In Kurzform: Netflix hat eine neue Animationsserie rund um Segas blauen Igel mit dem Namen Sonic Prime angekündigt, die 2022 anlaufen soll.
In Langform gibt’s noch ein paar Infos und Aussagen der Beteiligten in englischer Sprache, weil es Sega und Netflix damit so eilig hatten, dass die PR-Abteilung keine Zeit mehr hatte, alles noch schnell zu übersetzen – und wir auch nicht:
- Netflix, SEGA of America, Inc. (“SEGA”), and WildBrain announce a new animated Sonic the Hedgehog series, Sonic Prime, set to premiere worldwide in 2022.
- The 24-episode animated adventure for kids, families, and long-time fans draws upon the keystones of the brand and features the “Blue Blur” of video game fame in a high-octane adventure where the fate of a strange new multiverse rests in his gloved hands. Sonic’s adventure is about more than a race to save the universe, it’s a journey of self-discovery and redemption.
- The series will be animated at WildBrain’s Vancouver studio, and SEGA and WildBrain will jointly participate across production, distribution and licensing. Man of Action Entertainment, creators of Ben 10 and the characters and team in the Academy Award-winning feature Big Hero 6, have been brought on as showrunners and Executive Producers for the series.

In 2020, the theatrical feature Sonic the Hedgehog, took the number one spot worldwide on opening weekend and remained on top globally for weeks while breaking domestic box office records. Producers SEGA Sammy and Paramount Pictures have announced a sequel to the feature is in development.
mich hat das nicht gestört, da ich den typ nicht kenne. entsprechend hab ich keine assoziation zu ihm oder seiner stimme.
Solange der youtube-Dödel nicht in die Synchro involviert ist, ist doch alles wunderbar 🙂 Auf Amazon gab es mal eine Sonic-Trickfilmserie, die sogar recht unterhaltsam war. Warum also nicht, wenn die Animation stimmt.

Also ich persönlich gehe an Videospiel Verfilmungen auch stets sehr skeptisch ran. Und ich dachte auch erst, der Film wird Schrott, besonders natürlich nach dem ersten Trailer damals.
Im Kino hab ich ihn nicht geguckt. Hörte dann aber die vielen, positiven Kritiken und kaufte mir dann die Blu-ray.
Ich war so positiv überrascht, was die daraus gemacht haben und wieviel Liebe auch zur Videospiel Reihe da ist. Fand auch James Mardsen in seiner Rolle gut. Der Humor von Sonic war toll und irgendwie genau richtig.
Freue mich auch sehr auf die Fortsetzung

@Max Snake Als reiner Kinderfilm würd ich Sonic nicht bezeichnen. Und selbst die meisten Disney/Pixar Filme sind von den Dialogen her breiter gefächert für jede Altersgruppe.
Vielleicht ist der Film auf englisch erträglicher, ich werd ihn mir aber nicht noch mal antun nur um das herauszufinden.?

Der Sonic Film ist total geil, Ende der Diskussion.
Aber Filme können ja noch so gut sein, es wird immer irgendwelche Mäkel Heinis geben.
Ich würde mich aber anstelle der Netflix Serie auch mal wieder über ein Anständiges Spiel freuen, was irgendwie echt auf sich warten lässt.

Entgegen der allgemeinen Meinung fand ich den Street Fighter Film mit Van Damme sogar recht unterhaltsam.?
@Tokyo_shinjuu Der Detektiv Pikachu Film war wirklich gut, das stimmt! Würde jedoch nie diesen Sonic Film mit Filmen wie Street Fighter oder Super Mario Bros auf ein- und dieselbe Ebene setzen. Youtube Bengel hin oder her … Aber das sind wir wieder bei den Geschmäcker 😉
@tomati Ja ich hab den Film erst vor ein paar Wochen gesehen. Bin da auch ohne große Erwartungen rangegangen und wurde trotzdem ziemlich enttäuscht.
Handwerklich ist der Film natürlich alles andere als Müll, aber solche unterirdischen kindlichen Dialoge, eine schauspielerische Leistung wo selbst die Street Fighter Besetzung gegen glänzt, und dieser dämliche Youtube Bengel der im deutschen Sonic die Stimme leiht, das war in meinen Augen und Ohren totale Grütze.
Ich persönlich würd den Film auf eine Stufe mit dem Super Mario Bros. Movie stellen und viel tiefer geht es eigentlich nicht mehr.
Viel besser, für jedes Alter geeignet und vor allem unterhaltsamer macht es z. B. der Detektiv Pikachu Film.
Wieso ist hier der Grossteil so negativ auf die News von einer Sonic Animations Serie gestimmt? :/
@Tokyo_shinjuu Hast du den Film gesehen? Also unter Müll verstehe ich was anderes. Da gibt es andere Vertreter von Videospielverfilmungen dir unter der Kategorie Müll einzustufen sind!
@ChrisKong Sonic Mania war doch gut! Und wenn dann weitere Sonic Spiele auf dem Niveau gehalten werden, wieso nicht?
Klingt, als wollte man schnell noch Kasse machen, bevor man den Igel wieder auf den Müllhaufen seiner aktuellen Spiele zurückkehren lässt.

Och, warum nicht. Da kann man bestimmt was daraus machen, wenn man nur will. Ich vermute mal CGI, oder? Den Kinofilm mit Jim Carrey fand ich ganz nett. Nichts was man braucht, aber war ganz unterhaltsam. Meinem Sohn und meiner Frau hat er ebenfalls gefallen, auch wenn er genau genommen eine Ohrfeige für den alten Mega Drive-Sonic ist.
Animationsserie … CGI oder “Zeichentrick”?
Ne Serie im Stil der gezeichneten Sequenzen von Sonic Mania fänd ich ziemlich lässig. 🙂
Aber ich vermute einfach mal eher n CGI-Sonic, da der Film ja wohl ziemlich erfolgreich war.
Keine Ahnung, ob ich bis dahin noch Netflix habe, aber wenn, werd ich beim blauen Igel mal rein schauen. Bei entsprechender Qualität dann auch natürlich gern mit den Kids zusammen. 🙂
Gut das ich kein Netflix hab, wenn das genauso nen Müll wird wie der Film, bleibt es mir zum Glück erspart.?
Sonic Prime? hört sich eher an als würds auf Amazon laufen. 😛
