loool, ich meinte natürlich The Guardian Legend xD

.-P5. Dezember 2016 um 21:41 #1248688Max SnakeTeilnehmerMega Drive:

Bit Generations Reihe ( Import)5.
–Castlevania: Circle of the Moon / Harmony of Dissonance / + Aria of Sorrow(alle GBA)
–Mario + Luigi: Superstar Saga (GBA). Der Auftakt zur humorigen RPG-Serie.
–DK King of Swing (GBA).
–Zelda: Oracle of Seasons / Oracle of Ages (beide GBC) oder Links Awakening / DX (GB/GBC)

6. Dezember 2016 um 12:55 #1248692greenwadeTeilnehmerBei Streets of Rarge 3 würde ich ausschließlich die japanische Version empfehelen. die US und EU versionen sind leider in den sand gesetzt worden:
Quote:“There’s a million of little details they’ve changed that totally fucked up the game. Way too much to list. There are numerous things that make BK3 better, but let’s not discuss the godawful covers, manuals and missing move lists in the Western versions, and the 50Hz PAL issue that makes the EU PAL version the worst of them all, and let’s forget the butchered graphics and inferior voice samples for a second and concentrate on the actual gameplay itself:
The thing you’ll instantly notice when playing Bare Knuckle 3 is that on its hardest difficulty setting the game is still much easier and much more balanced than SoR3 on Easy. It is as fun as Streets of Rage 2. Unlike that, Streets of Rage 3 is frustrating in the purest meaning of the word.
One of the things that they changed for the third game were the special moves which you now have to earn by scores. You’re basically starting the game with special moves that are below the level of SoR2 in terms of strength, distance, and speed, but you can earn up to four stars that do increase these values. To really understand the problem with Streets of Rage 3 it is important to know that you loose one star every time you die, plus the score counter gets reset back to 0, so you basically start from scratch. That’s no big deal in Bare Knuckle 3 – but it is in Streets of Rage 3!
When butchering the game for the US and EU release, they did raise the difficulty. Like I wrote, Bare Knuckle 3 was very easy, much like Streets of Rage 2. But Streets of Rage 3 is so hard that it is just ridiculous for this kind of game. – Remember that this is not a shmup, but a multi-player brawler.
Anyway, its difficulty itself isn’t the actual problem: When ‘adjusting’ (read: fucking up) the difficulty, and even though they had like 3000 beta testers that all get to be mentioned in SoR3’s credits (no joke!), they obviously did not consider …tada: the special move system. In the Japanese version, you earn star after star and basically stay on level 2 or level 3 through the entire game. Good players stay on level 4. Now, in SoR3 you have to deal with this insanely difficult game where even the most basic enemy is faster and stronger than you. There even are less items to refill your life bar! – All of this without having any special move at all! You’re just thrown out there on level 0 and every single time you earned enough points to reach level 1, you die and loose your special move _AND_ your score counter gets reset. AAARGH! IT IS SO DAMN FRUSTRATING!
Of all the many many disgusting things they did to the game in the US (http://soronline.classicgaming.gamespy.com/sor3_sor3vsbk3.htm), this is by far the worst. Imagine if for the US release of Super Mario they would remove all power ups. No mushrooms and no fireflowers… – it’s a fucking joke.
Now, going through this game over and over again until you master it is still possible of course – if you’re sitting home alone with your Genesis all day. But as soon as some friends come over to play some Streets of Rage with you, Streets of Rage 3 just isn’t an option: It is just too frustrating for someone who doesn’t know the game too well. But that’s exactly what made the first two games such all-time classics; its 2 player mode…
http://soronline.classicgaming.gamespy.com/sor3_sor3vsbk3.htm
That does list a lot of changes, but omits some of the most essential ones, like the results of the changes to the difficutly levels such as the barely functional special move system, and the tedious gameplay.
EDIT – This is the passage that lists the most important changes:
Significantly, Bare Knuckle 3 is much easier than SOR3 – it is comparable to SOR2’s difficulty. SOR3’s bosses often have several life stars more than their BK3 counterparts. Bare Knuckle 3 also features a Very Hard mode which is missing from SOR3. Clearly this shows that Sega of America decided that the game was too easy, and moved all the difficulty settings up one, so Normal mode in Bare Knuckle 3 is the equivilent of Easy in Streets of Rage 3 (this is proven if you load a BK3 save state into SOR3). This was a bad move in my opinion, as SOR3 is just too hard and the difficulty prevents you from keeping the special blitz attacks for any length of time.
More info on the difficulty differences; in SOR3 enemy attack damage rises with difficulty levels, whilst in BK3 it remains the same. Example – the damage done by Galsia’s punches in BK3 is 2 on all diffciulty levels, whilst in SOR3 it is 2 on Easy, 4 on Normal and 12(!!) on Hard. Cheers to Anton Berglin for figuring that out.
The result of the changes described in both paragraphs is that in order to beat SOR3 you have to imagine playing BK3 in Hard but with enemies twice as strong as they’d usually be. They also are faster and seem to have much more health [than in BK3 on Hard], And you are getting less items and are encountering more enemies and obstacles than in BK3 on Hard.
It is this combination that “prevents you from keeping the special blitz attacks for any length of time”. – The inability to keep your special moves takes away an essential component of the game. It is frustrating, again adds to the difficulty and makes playing the game a rather tedious task.
If you wanna have a laugh, watch the credits of SOR3. The list of SOA’s beta testers is ten times longer than the list of actual developers at SOJ.
What puzzles me is A) what did they test exactly ?, and WHY couldn’t they just leave the damn game alone!?”
