Der Bestrafer feiert im Januar 2019 seine Rückkehr, während es für die Gründe für die bisherigen Absetzungen eine weitere mögliche Erklärung gibt:

It seems that much of the fallout occurred after Netflix wanted to renegotiate the terms of their contract with Disney regarding the TV side of things. Netflix has pivoted towards original content that it owns outright, which is more profitable for it, but it did want to keep the Marvel shows since those bring eyes to the service. From reports, Netflix wanted to shorten the Marvel shows, from 13 episodes a season to 6 or 8. That would bring in the cost of producing the shows and increase retention on them since stats show that many fall off around midseason.

Disney didn’t want to do that though, as that would mean it doesn’t make as much money from licensing those characters, characters that it also can’t use in its growing Marvel Cinematic Universe, where they could be utilized in a much more profitable way. Netflix could renew the shows and keep them on the service, but the old terms would still be in place, so Netflix decided to cancel.

Halten wir fest, Disney möchte keine neuen Vertragsbedingungen, die für den Konzern weniger Profit versprechen, während Netflix die Anzahl an Folgen senken wollte – was sicherlich von uns allen zu begrüßen wäre, waren die Serien doch phasenweise langatmig.

Wie es um den Punisher steht, wird sich nach Release schnell entscheiden. Ob wahr oder nicht – die Serie dürfte wie der Rest bei Netflix Geschichte sein.

Search for the term “idiot” on Google and several photographs of President Donald Trump will appear high in the image results.
On Tuesday, the search engine giant’s CEO Sundar Pichai had the task of explaining to members of Congress why that happens during a hearing in front of the House Judiciary Committee.
Pichai refuted Rep. Zoe Lofgren’s (D-Calif.) tongue-in-cheek suggestion that it was down to “a little man sitting behind the curtain” who was skewing the results against conservatives — saying the company doesn’t “manually intervene” in searches.
“We provide search today for any time you type in a keyword. We, as Google, have gone out and crawled and stored copies of billions of their pages in our index, and we take the keyword and match it against the pages and rank them based on over 200 signals,” Pichai explained.
“Things like relevance, freshness, popularity, how other people are using it. And based on that, you know, at any given time, we try to find the best results for that query,” he added, during the hearing that also threw up several other self-owns for lawmakers.

Lucasfilm is pleased to announce the cast of the first-ever Star Wars live-action series — The Mandalorian.

Pedro Pascal (Narcos) has been cast in the title role as a lone Mandalorian gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy. He is joined by Gina Carano (Deadpool), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), Carl Weathers (Predator), Omid Abtahi (American Gods), Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man), and Nick Nolte (Affliction).

“We’re having a great time working with this incredibly talented group and excited for everyone to see what we’re up to,” says Executive Producer Jon Favreau.

Currently in production, The Mandalorian is written and executive produced by Jon Favreau, with Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) directing the first episode and serving as executive producer alongside Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson. Additional episodic directors include Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).

The highly-anticipated series will be exclusive to Disney+, The Walt Disney Company’s upcoming direct-to-consumer streaming service, which is set to launch in the U.S. in late 2019.
