A Link to the Pas ein paar Mal angespielt aber immer wieder direkt zum Beginn abgebrochen. Ocarina of Time war mein erstes Zelda und der SNES-Ableger hat mich nie abgeholt.

Mein Favorite: “Nintendo GoGo machine”
Ist es eine Pole Dance Tanzstange, eine Nintendo Konsole oder der böse Doppelgänger von Inspector Gadget..?

“Wann kommst du nach Hause?”
“Ungefähr 1/10 Metroid Prime 2”There was a lot to unpack in that single spreadsheet, so i’ve got a few misc notes about released games in addition to the list of unreleased stuff from earlier. First, I translated the DOL page, just because it was the smallest one yet still had some interesting content.
Forgot to mention earlier that Super Paper Mario and Donkey Kong Barrel Blast have different early titles; Super Paper Mario Bros. and Tarutaru Donkey (a play on the Japanese title for DK: King of Swing, Burabura Donkey, also developed by Paon).
I find it interesting that NCL used other games as reference for the localisation work required for NoA/NoE; 1/10th of Prime 2, less than half of Paper Mario, etc.
NCL specifically requested that the power plug / outlets in Chibi-Robo not be localized. Makes sense for multiple reasons.
It’s fun that Densetsu no Quiz was considered for localisation at all, but looking at the workload required it should be no surprise that it never happened.
There were a lot of DS things to note about released DS software too:
Online play was just a consideration for Phantom Hourglass (called DS Zelda) at this stage, noting that the game would need to be delayed to accomodate it.
Soma Bringer was once known as Angelic Soma, and included online play. The game was set to be complete in September 2006, which seems a little early looking at the final release date; had to have been delayed.
Banjo and Conker being replaced by Dixie and Tiny is something NCL specifically note. Considering the game launched over a year after this document was made, it was clearly something finalized early on.
There was some consideration in having NoA and NoE localize and publish Contact (by Grasshopper Manufacture). The spreadsheet describes it as a “Mother-like”, so I guess Nintendo had a sweet spot for it (but no sweet enough to go through with any of this).
They considered redoing the character designs for the North American localisation of Magical Starsign. Thankfully that didn’t happen.
The notes on New Super Mario Bros. specially mentions “Plans to distribute additional data for new courses via Wi-Fi”. Would’ve been pretty wild for Nintendo in 2006.
The document also shamelessly references reusing the minigames from Super Mario 64 DS.
Digitylish DS had “two prototypes in progress”, and skip were “considering other projects in parallel”. It was suggest that they “extend the prototype period by 6 months to explore a new business model”, which may be an early reference to to DSi Shop (where these games were eventually released)?
At the point this document was made online play wasn’t actually locked in for Diamond and Pearl! Mentioned as a consideration.
As referenced earlier, there were a lot of working titles and early names used here; too many to list. Most are “franchise name” then DS or [number of installment]; Chibi-Robo DS, Jump Super Stars 2, Mario vs. Donkey Kong DS, Yoshi’s Island 2, Kirby DS, Burabura Donkey DS, etc. Some publicly known early titles were also in use here, like Detect Hacker (Project Hacker), Wish Room (Hotel Dusk) and Eternal Chronicle (Glory of Heracles). There’s also two titles i’ve never seen used before, ‘Game Fortune Bag’ (Clubhouse Games) and Marionation Gear (Chosoju Mecha MG); technically the latter is still part of the final title in abbreviated form, but still.
and one more thing. I wrote off most of the GBA page outside of Rhythm Tengoku, so I didn’t quite realize that there was actually a totally unreleased game there. I thought the game listed as マリパボード (Mario Pa Board) was just a working title for Mario Party Advance, with Hudson listed as the developer and all, but upon actually reading all the listed info it’s definitely a different, released game that was set to launch in Japan in January or February 2006 (Mario Party Advance launched in early 2005). It was seemingly a full release building off the Bonus Board included with Mario Party Advance (which is even called マリパボード on the official Japanese website); said to include 10 paper boards in a larger than normal box (compared to DS packaging, but I can’t tell if it means DS games or DS hardware); using the GBA to play minigames. My best guess is that it was scrapped due to a combination of the bigger box costing a bit more to produce, and they probably wanted Hudson to move on to Mario Party DS (which isn’t even listed on the spreadsheet) ASAP.

27. Juli 2021 um 0:45 #1720443FuffelpupsTeilnehmerNintendo hat anscheinend auch schon herausgefunden das Druck gegen Joy Con Drift hilft.
Thanks to youtuber VK its known that pressure to the back of a joycon control stick stops drift. I opened my Zelda joycons and noticed strips, theyre not in any joycons me or others have seen. Please share this post. It seems nintendo fixed their biggest issue behind the scenes pic.twitter.com/FgDS1Prh11
